Welcome to Embodied Paths

Embodied: an expression of or giving a tangible or visible form to an idea, quality or feeling. –as defined by Oxford Languages

For me, being Embodied is incorporating the whole person, feeling and dealing with all the feelings, and addressing the impact of trauma on the body, mind & spirit.

My name is Jen Franklin (she/her). I am a student and instructor of both Kempo Karate and Yoga. I’m also a Massage Therapist. Embodied Paths is my way to bring together three different paths to help my community. I teach Women’s+ Self Defense Classes* as well as Trauma Informed Yoga Classes. I also offer 60 and 90 minute massage. My goal is to empower women through the Embodying practices of Self Defense, Yoga, and Massage.

I am Certified as a Massage Therapist in the state of California. I offer 60 and 90 minute massages. Click here to book a massage appointment.

*This Self Defense Class is focused on the experience of women. I welcome anyone who identifies as a women or femme in any way that is important to you, as well as anyone else who may hold less assigned gender power. This includes all those who self-identify as being oppressed by misogyny. I base my thoughts here on the work of Bear Hebert and Rachel Ricketts
